Hope it's okay to just say hi! I'm completely new to allotments and gardening in general but have a plot now and am very excited! Spending lots of time there already, clearing lots of bramble and grass. So I'm looking forward to having lots of questions and reading all the tips here. I don't expect too much of what I try to work yet, but will enjoy it anyway.

Ta,
Tina.

Hi Timelady. Welcome from me you will enjoy being on this site. Now if you need advice on making a cuppa or how to enjoy a glass of brandy then I'm your girl ;D but please don't ask me any gardening questions.
Now I am not sure what Mary means (Rosebud) she may be a little peeved with me as I have set her the task of trying to find me a fu*hsia named Dawn Star (we are the best of friends really :))
Good luck. Lorna.

Hi and welcome! The great thing about this site is we cover the whole range from absolute beginners to very experienced, and everybody's happy to help!

timelady

Wow, thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Absolutely right about the 'before' pics. Fortunately I have a couple photos from when I first got the plot, and they're on my blog, but then keep forgetting to take the camera with me in the mornings. So today it's on the list... although I might forget the list in the next 15 minutes of course. ;)

Of to go ask my first official question now! :D

Suey

Hi all, I`ve not been here for ages, too busy looking for dead people  :)  I couldn`t even remember my log-in details so had to start all over again  :-[
Lorna, have you tried this site for your fuchsia?

Thanks Suey, will have a look later. Dawn Star was amongst 6 fuschias that late husband bought me. Although I have always managed to take cuttings from the others I had many failures on Dawn Star and this year I even lost the parent plant.
Gotta go and get rid of some more conifers then get horse poo so will do my googling later today ;D

Hi timelady & Suey,
                            Wellcome to the site,
As winter is comming and the garden almost closes down,
the next most important question is .............
Do either of you like chocolate? ;D ;D ;D

I'm the greedy one on this site ;D ;D ;D
UNDER PRESSURE (constantly)

timelady

Mmmm, chocolate! Wouldnt' turn it down. Nor a sherry. ;)
I've got a lovely  ??? winter of chopping bramble ahead of me though.

Tina.

Suey

Hi scotch-mist  :)  Yes I`m very partial to chocolate but try not to eat it too often  :'(

Tina, your paintings are beautiful!
