I want to part-exchange my body please!

Having spent most of yesterday evening and all of last night with mild to not so mild chest pains, my husband took me to hospital this morning and it turns out I have what the docs call a 'possible small blood clot' Grrrrr.  I've been sent home with enough syringes to keep the local detox centre going and I have to jab myself with anti-coagulant each evening until I get called back for a more detailed lung scan (now this should be a laugh, I've never jabbed myself with anything before - 'cept a pencil in the eye ...) I've had a bad blood clot on my lungs before so I know the score but it's still a shock to the system and has made me wonder how I let my good health run away from me again for the sake of some good tasting eatsies (don't we all think that when faced with situations like this?!) So I feel fine in myself but the pain in my back and chest hurts like b*gg*ry and I've got to lounge around until further notice.  There are worse things in life, right? LOL  Looking on the bright side, at least this scan will be local - last time I had to have a lung scan, I had to be driven by ambulance to another hospital 30 miles away because some desperado (in need of one of my syringes no doubt) had nicked the chip from the scanning machine in my local hospital!!!

That's quite scary, but you sound as though you are being very brave about it.  Hope all goes well for you when you have the scan.

Take care of yourself, hope they call you back very soon!

Oh eck gal, that's no bloody good, get them needles in and get rid of the evil doer ASAP..pretend you are sticking someone else at first, you will get used to it quick.. meantime put bum on seat or better still put back on bed and rest...don't be a martyr on these one, you do exactly as you are told..Grandma said!!!

The quicker you behave the quicker you will get better.

I would offer to swap some of my bits but the outside bits tend to be rather crinkly and the inside bits are rather past their sell by date so not much use to you, although having said that my exhaust system works very well and very often too, works so well the lady next door bangs on the wall when I use it cos it is so loud. Mind you I don't think I want to swap that as talking about bowels and their bits is the only thing folks in this apartment block seem to talk about so I don't want to be left out.

You take care.

When I first started having to inject myself, I used an ice cube to numb the area first.
These days its in and out without blinking/thinking.

If you find the pain of injecting too much ask your GP for some Emla cream, ita an anaesthetic cream that you place on the skin and let the anaesthetic soak in.

Good Luck.
