when making beer traps whats the best beer to put in. is it the cheapest stuff or a certain brand. is it lager bitter or mild. do you think they'd like a nice bacardi and coke with a slice of lime. seriously is there a particular kind of beer that people have found works best. might be a stupid question but i'm the bloke that asks them

I've found that any cheap beer does the trick quite nicely, only concern is that all the slugs from neighbouring plots come round for a party! ;D

the cheapest with lots of yeast in it.

ie supermarket no frills 2L plastic bottle beer the stuff winos turn down

even better is pub drip tray spills - unless your landlord recycles them  :P :P :P :P

as the yeast content seems important, would it be worth putting a little dried yeast into each beer pot? Or is this just a silly idea...!?

My beer never makes it into the traps...I always drink it, get pissed and attack the slugs with the flame thrower... ;D

You been spying on me? :o You got one small detail wrong though - I buy the value bitter in tins and only when I forget to take my slop polypin to the pub.  Do use all the excuses in Tescos though. ;D
