Well its raining as promised, but where is all the wind we were forecast?

The hatches are all battened down but it appears all for nothing, at least where i am. As I said, pouring with rain but not a breath of wind.

Has ANYONE  got these dreaded gales then?  :-/

The trees look absolutely still outside. It's chucking it down, but none of the dreaded hurricanes they've been promising.

All quiet here too, just raining. I even left a note on the kitchen unit reminding my daughter to close all the windows today - just in case! Perhaps this is the calm before the storm.

Just to update:

Here in Dorset the sun is trying to come out and the sky is looking a lot brighter. So rather than getting worse the weather seems to be getting better!

This is the null - wait for phase 2 tonight! (Glos)

West country seemed to have suffered last night?

Don't tempt fate? I've battened down the cloches. = Tim

Just said on our local radio that we have missed the worst in Sussex, and it is battering France and the Channel! (glad I am not on a boat today :-X!) DP

Big wind last night here in our part of Essex, and it wasn't just the sprouts we had for lunch yesterday!  Plenty of twigs and branches littering the pavements and roads.  however, no wind during daylight hours, altho plenty of rain!  It is running down the road. Nope, as I look out of my study window I can see a couple of pigeons sitting on the top of my willow, heads down, resting and a perfectly still tree.

Very windy in Sheff yesterday, and hailing/raining in fits n starts (which made lighting loverly bonfire quite difficult)  - wouldnt say it was gale force though....

OK folks so we seem to have everybody elses bad weather here in good old West Lothian.  :-/ It 's really windy and it's chucking down pea sized hail.   :-/ It is so cold and dark - not too nice at all - I'm fed up - bring back the sun please!

No rain here in Tamworth today (staffordshire) managed to get a bit of digging done.  I do not think these weather forecasters could tell you what the next day is going to be ::) :o
