Mrs Ava

only a few sleet showers in Essex today, altho more forecast over night.  NO!  I want to get down to the lottie tomorrow and saturday.  We gotta shed to build!  >:(

SueT

Hope we get it instead of you EJ ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hyacinth

snowing a bit in brum... :'(  Going to Herts for the w/end - what's it like there?

Garden Manager

Snow here too in Dorset, not much but enough. Been doing it most of the evening, but has turned wet and sleety laterly.

Still it is enough to stop work in the garden or lottie isnt it. Just at the time when there is lots to do !!!!  :(

Mrs Ava

awwww, thanks SueT.  Rotten weather.  Alsorts of nasties forcast for the weekend, and the outlaws were going to babysit for us Saturday morning so we could crack on, and now father in law has shingles and doesn't know if he will be up to it  >:( :'(.  I know they will try their hardest, and I know 'thats life' but I was looking forward to Ava and I getting to the plot and getting some serious work done.  Poo!

SueT

EJ I hope your father in laws shingles don`t develop......nasty affliction apparently!  Still hope we get the snow and you don`t! ;D ;D

Just a 'sprinkling' in the Cotswolds!!

But we desperately needed the moisture - it's dry 6" down. The sprouting is dying! Tim

Gardengirl

Hubby mowed the lawn yesterday - just as well as we had about two inches of snow here in Hertfordshire last night.  All going now - forecast for the weekend milder but a bit wet so probably not much done outside - will have to stick to working in the greenhouse :-\
Happy gardening all...........Pat

Hyacinth

woke up to a similar 'sprinkling' here, Tim - and still it comes.

So that's my weekend away well and truly b*****ed, then. Have had enough travel adventures lately to last me a good while :'( :'(

So I'll have to stay here and plague you all instead ;D ;D ;D - Lishka

here (east of London/west Essex) had about an inch overnight. Was very shocked when i looked out the kitchen window this morning - really wasn't expecting it (I keep hoping it'll be spring this weekend so we can start digging the pond - we're never gonna finish it by the end of march, like I'd hoped!)

Anyway - had melted off the pavements, so at least I didn't skate n slid to the station.

I hope it gets miraculously warmer and clear by tomorrow - I've got loads of things to do in the garden and the only thing that's gonna stop me is if I can't open the shed door for snow drifts! (It better not be like that - I'm NOT tempting fate!)
gone to pot :D

Ragged Robin

more rain here in SE London, than snow.....thank goodness......thought I was going to have to get the hosepipe out......its so dry.
Happy gardening, Robin x

aquilegia

woohoo! Just checked out the weather forecast - it's going to be much warmer tomorrow and into next week and maybe even sunny! spring is coming. spring is coming.
gone to pot :D

Mrs Ava

Well, at 3am when I needed a pee I looked out of the window and it was snowing like a chistmas card, but when I finally got out of bed at 7, altho sleety, nothing had settled, so I got down to the allotment and worked sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard!  I have now cleared the whole area behind the compost heap, moved 14 barrow fulls of compost onto my plot, plus a huge box full of broken glass which was a nightmare.  Looks great, so the plan for tomorrow, if the outlaws do come to look after the kids, is to empty the compost heap, move it length ways and push as close to the stream as is sensible, refill with now nicely turned and aired 'stuff', then prepare the base for the shed, and who knows, maybe get things underway with the build, but if not, at least there will be a couple of dump runs to get rid of all the glass and all of the brambles and nettle roots I oiked out today, ooo and the pile of rotten carpet on the new plot.  yippe, things are looking great!

aquilegia

EJ - piccies please!

Mrs Ava

I will make sure I have the camera tomorrow, couldn't today as Ava took it to work.  Men, do they not appreciate the importance of photos!
