Hi Gwyleg,

I think locally grown cucumbers will be a very popular giveaway this year.

Don`t forget to wash your hands,  ;D

Col
... I am warmed by winter sun and by the light in your eyes.
I am refreshed by the rain and the dew
And by thoughts of you...

I've got twenty-odd Boothby's Blond; I'm growing them out for the HSL, but I think there are likely to be plenty over for us!

All I can say is that it's a good thing we're fond of cucumbers and tomatoes!  Finally got them all in their final positions - I've got (gulp) 39 tomato plants (Shirley, Gardeners Delight, Golden Cherry and Big Boy) and 12 cucumbers (three Euphya, three Mini Munch and six Crystal Lemon)...  The Mini Munches are already cropping all over the place!  Good job they are, well, mini!

I planted out 6 plants on Friday, which makes my cucumbers seem very modest  ;D . I'm growing Mirella (last of a packet), Cucino and new this year (to me) Iznik. We'll see how they do  :)

..and I thought I was overdoing it with my two crystal apple cucumber plants!

Robert_Brenchley

There I was looking at my twenty-whatever, and thinking I was overdoing it!

How ever much you think you're overdoing it, in this place there's always someone will go one better  ;)
But seriously, garrett, you're gonna have to have more than two of anything to impress round this forum ;D

I've got 5 burpless tasty green, my sikkims were all duds and didn't germinate. And the little burpless are all looking very sorry for themselves. They're still sulking about all that windy weather. So I don't think I'll be contributing to the A4A cucmber mountain this year.

the A4A cucmber mountain this year.

LOL  ;D

I only planted mine the other day, and they are not looking overjoyed! But I'm hopeful....... for a mountain.....  ;D

My 3 plants are doing well, several centimetres tall and with good leaves. I just sowed some more but they hadn't germinated as of the other day.
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

My mum has thrown away her shop bought English grown cucuber, just in case  LOL :)

I can't believe how early the cue's are this year. I sow indoors then straight on the lottie.  The plants are small but both of them have fat cue's on them about 4" long the last time I looked, expecting great things from them now we have had the rain.

Glut?? Could be right - they seem to be doing very well. Great, because it's been 1/2 term with the g/sprogs!

So far, some 20 fruit - but Melen, a new try, not looking happy on left. Passandra as good as ever.

DON'T forget to take off the fruits up to AT LEAST 12" & pinch out the laterals at 2 leaves.

PS - OK, ours are inside!

Mrs Ava

They look splendid Tim.  Mine are outside and there are loads of baby fruits and with the rain today, I am hoping they will now swell nicely.

tim

Lovely to see you there, Mrs!!
