Allotments 4 All

My kitchen smells of part roasted parsnips waiting to go into the freezer.The windowsill propagators are ready to be filled and warmed up ready for the early seeds to go in and wait for it yes the sun is shining.
I think Spring must be almost here cos I just don't feel like this during the winter ;D

lovely isnt it,just been thinking the same whilst washing up and noticing all the buds on on the honeysuckle round our kitchen window,washing on the line and snowdrops nearly,just nearly in bloom.Cant WAIT to get to the plot over the weekend!

Sun has got his hat on here.  Glorious. 

But not sure it is going to last.  Just going back to lottie to do some more prep work.  The weeds are already growing very fast.

I had to avert my eyes yesterday. There was a pair of collared doves in a tree at the bottom of the garden  ;) :o. Now they're at it in the front garden ;D.

just sowed some marigolds under plastic on the windowsill and some italian salad leaves. Went the rounds of Wilkies, B&M, home bargains and the pound shops, got a goji berry from Wilkies and a pair of snips from home bargains, thanks, rugby ..now skint  ;D

It is absolutely gorgeous here in Hampshire.  And, apart from a dog walk when I shall have missed the best of the sunshine, I am stuck indoors all day  :(

Never mind, I have enjoyed looking at the sunshine (but not so much seeing it highlight all the cobwebs in the house....!)

Lovely sunny day today in Enfield.  Washing on the line and it has dried, the terrible twins (cats) are nowhere to be seen.  Planted a few seeds on the window cill, don't care if it too early. Waiting for granddaughter to come home from school with curry (cookery today) and I have a terrible cold, so no allotment today, maybe at the weekend.

The lovely weather has got me outside too. Like Shirl I have some compost indoors and ready for some chilli seeds to be sown tomorrow.
I also mixed up some seed compost which is now sitting in a large big bin ready to be used.
My OH has just come home with a shed given to us for nothing and only a year old. I am not sure if i need it but I might site it near to my greenhouse and use it as a potting shed. I am a bit fed up using the garage. I could store all my pots in there. Maybe I do need it  ::)

ooh glad I read this thread, didnt realise you coud part roast parsnips and freeze them, ivejust brought a whole load back from the lottie. Now I knwo what i'll be doing tomorrow

Lovely day here in pontypridd the sun has been out for most of the day sown the last of my flower seeds untill end of the month. Californian Poppy, Aster mixed dwarf. Dhilias, Marigolds White Vanila, Orange, and yellows. and I have bought a Petunia Phantom (black&gold) Begonia f1 Apricot Shades For the hanging baskets, and a new centre pieace a Cascading Pansy Balconita,Rose blue for you,2 Orchids a White Egret, and a Malaysia Black Bat Plant, and for my wife as she loves them a Trailing Carnation Fontaine Mixed What with sun flowers the garden will be alive with colour I will post pictures for you to see. Payed Dan for membership but still  can,t put any thing up as yet

7.8lb of parsnip to be precise and the boggest and last one I picked was 1.14lb on its own

We usually drizzle honey over them before they go in the oven. They only take about 15 mins at most to heat through

hmm honeyed parsnips now your talking. guess what my job for the weekend is  :) yep freezing parsnips.
