Its not advvisable to run two Anti Virus programes as they may conflict against against each other.

There is plenty of good free anti virus to be found

I also use AVG free.  I did pay for the 'all singing' version for a couple of years, but decided to revert to the free version earlier this year.  I didn't feel that we needed all of the extra features.

AVG and Microsoft Security Essentials will not run together.

Microsoft Security Essentials. Is free, doesnt slow the PC down like most of the others, and catches viruses many others miss.

I had the same thing happen except mine had three months to run and then when I looked at the paperwork I had been given 18 months as a special offer so it had 9 more months to run.  They would not extend it for the month I was not covered since they said I had been covered though they sent me an email saying I was not.  They finally extended it but I decided not to renew with them.

Sorted thanks to your replies.  I am  very grateful.

I have gone with Microsoft Security Essentials but kept the others in my favourites.

I was with Kaspersky.  Spent over 2 hours on Tuesday evening trying to get  confirmation I was still with them.  Tried email, telephone call talking to a lady with an Asian/American accent I had difficulty in understanding, and then a chat on line. gave all details.   What a waste of time.

Thanks again.

I had the free AVG and then upgraded to their purchased one.

                             I want em saying

I purchased AVG and also had renewed the licence for 2 years.  I phoned their helpline last month and was directed to Virgin media (sub contracting).  They said I had been 'redirected' due to AVG callcentre having high call volumes.  They said they could fix the problem remotely for a one off fee of £29 as they were not AVG.   I phoned four times but got Virgin each time.  I reckon Virgin must be paying AVG each time they take a call........   AVG paid version has been excellent but i now looking for an alternative due to no AVG customer service.

Free is Ok I suppose but I dont get as much support than if you buy.

I have a paid for version of AVG and I find it very good.Had to phone them to help get rid of a rogue application yesterday and within minutes an email was sent giving me very easy and precise instructions on how to rid myself of it.

A years subscription was less than £30 and I could use it on 3 Pc's
