I sowed 15 modules of each of these a couple of weeks ago and put them in covered propagators on my patio. One of each has germinated! I think they probably got too hot. How/where would you sow them at this time of year? My soil is pretty rough so don't have much success with sowing direct.

I sowed both Swede and Khol Rabi about 7-10 days ago in modules, I kept them in a shady spot in the polytunnel, but uncovered, I think outside would be better. Germination was v good, despite the warm weather we have been having.

don't grow KR any more, tend now to stick with turnips although I love the appearance of KR but I sow swede latish (mainly early June), outdoors and uncovered - would sow direct but the slugs and snails get them in wet summers but would be ok this year  8)
