Oh! you lovely people - thank you so much for your good wishes.

The day started off real well with my birthday present to myself arriving on time - a new camera. Then the postman delivered several cards, one of which included a Boots Gift Voucher. In half an hour I shall be going out to lunch with a dear friend, then later, when the rest of the world has woken up I shall be getting phone calls from all over.

Now all I hope is that the bad weather warning proves to be wrong and that we don't get any snow.

Thanks - we had a lovely lunch, but when we came out of the hotel the rain/sleet/snow was horrendous. Luckily, it turned to just rain within a few minutes, but we were glad to get back home in the warm again.

This afternoon I was given a beautiful winter jasmine plant in bloom - the living room smells wonderful! I'm told it can be planted in the garden later on. Hope so as I just love its perfume.
