Seems so. My Grandson and his partner changed my status 3 days ago!
He was present for the birth and did very well by all accounts, but when the nurse gave the mother an injection in her arm, a short spurt of blood shot out. He passed out hitting his head on the sink and had to spend a short time in A&E....!
All's well with the three of them....well, apart from a bandaged head a treatment for hurt pride!

Typical man ;Is the baby a boy or a girl?Congratulations ;D

kenkew

A dark red headed boy weighing in at 7LBS 6ozs. The mother was in hospital 6 hours!
Remember when it was a 2 day event? These days young mums refuse that time to rest.....If it was me I'd be in there a month!

betula

We were in for a week. The mums are treated like cattle these days.

No proper care or rest.

Congratulations to you all!!

I was in for 10 days for my first - standard practice in London in those days.  Two years later in Saudi I was in 36 hours for the second one.  Six hours is a bit short, I'd say.

Yes I had forgotten that Flossy,I had my last baby in 1975.

The hospital still had a matron and she made her rounds each evening.

The wards were spotless.Even the patients were encouraged to be tidy,re lockers and belongings, proper visiting hours so people could rest.
Much better surely.

Come back Matron. :)

PS - you don't look a day over 30!

PPS - 10 days in with both of ours - a great learning curve with the first, and sheer indulgent bliss with the second
