Just in case you don't already know, the new series 'River Cottage Autumn' begins on Thursday 16 October - 8.00p.m. on Channel 4.

Wouldn't want anyone to miss it!  :)

Why are all the good prgrammes on Thursdays - the only night I go out, to my choir? Does Channel 4 have a "watch again" facility?

Unfortunately i can't use the 4oD on my system, I shall have to watch it on TV or record it to DVD.

Here's why:-
When will 4oD be available to users on MAC OS, Linux or other Operating platforms?
Unfortunately we cannot say when the 4oD service will be available to users of other platforms, including Mac OS and Linux.
The problem is, our content providers (e.g. the production companies who make our shows), insist on using a DRM licensing system. The DRM (Digital Rights Management) system basically protects the video content from duplication and broadcast outside the UK & ROI. Currently they insist on using Microsoft's DRM, and because of this we can only support Microsoft operating systems. Linux currently has no such DRM system available and so our content providers will not allow us to support the Linux operating system. Macintosh do have a solution, however the closed DRM system used by Apple is not currently available for licence by third parties and there is no other Mac-compatible DRM solution which meets the protection requirements of our content owners. Unfortunately, we are therefore unable to offer 4oD and other video content to Mac users at this stage.

We are sorry to disappoint on this occasion and assure you that if changes throughout the industry happen, as we would like, we will ensure the support of other operating systems.

There are probably way around it if you're clever enough, such as recording the transient signal. It works with CD's

Really enjoyed it- will be making roast tomato sauce and determined to overcome my beetroot phobia and grow some next year. Loved the "guerilla garening" bit too.

That roasted tomatoe sauce is a must!!!
Shame about the ducks though, i just love the  cute things, i dident watch when they had them at the duck fare, really enjoyed the programme one of my favs.

I shall catch up with it tomorrow when it's being repeated on C4 at 7.00pm.
It's also on More4 Sunday at 7.55pm.

it was great to watch, lots of lovely recipes that i have already saved from the website, the beetroot brownies is a must try and next year i know what recipe I'll be using for any tom gluts. and think this weekend I'll be harvesting some haws to make the sauce to accompany Christmas dishes.

Daughter wants me to cook the beetroot & apple crumble!  Might give it a try this weekend.

Have made the beetroot brownies this afternoon.  They are fab, moist and light.  YUmYUm!
