MAY DAY
The first day of the month of May is known as May Day. It is the time of year when warmer weather begins and flowers and trees start to blossom. It is said to be a time of love and romance. It is when people celebrate the coming of summer with lots of different customs that are expressions of joy and hope after a long winter.

Happy May Day everyone, lets hope we all have a productive summer!!! :D

the 1st of May is also the day (1707) the two Kingdoms of Scotland & England merged to form a single kingdom encompassing the entire island of Great Britain with a single parliament and government based in Westminster.

Being born in May was thought to produce a sickly child  :'(

Never buy a broom in May or wash blankets  :o
"Wash a blanket in May
Was a dear one away"

Cats born this month will not be good rodent catchers and even worse, will bring snakes into the home  :o

"A wet May makes a big load of hay. A cold May is finely and fills the barn finely"

"A swarm of bees in May,
Is worth a load of hay"

"Those who bathe in May
Will soon be laid in clay"

May was named after the Greek Goddess Maia
