LOL some of my buttons are well sinister LOL

I suppose we could scan knitting patterns and put into a folder and email to each other as a swap, no postage costs?  If someone wants babies, or girls or boys or whatever?  Then they can download and print off?

Now actually............I am due to be a great aunt,  twice in the space of a few weeks in the summertime. And I have no baby patterns any more. That suggestion JVO and Valmarg is brilliant.

So if its ok to play?? :D
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

Beastly girls, you have just put me right off my choc muffin :)

I have tons of baby patterns and loads of shawl patterns,  my favourites are the Shetland ones done in 1ply cobweb pure wool but I have  3/4 and some double kniting ones too.

Same with my baby patterns, I prefer 2 and 3 ply wool but I have 4ply and double knit too.

I might have an access of needles too if anyone is without and wants a go.

now back to collecting

Seeing EJ's post about glass - also collect little bits of broken glass from the plots as they surface, with a view to making my plot number signs out of them. (A bit of guidance as to plastic type resin to glue them together would be welcome  ???)
If I ever get it all right - then that's the time to quit.

I collect music.

Love it :D

I will get my scanner set up and do some knitting patterns and maybe some cross-stitch charts.  Once I have done some I will put a swap notice up.  I have loads of babies patterns and I have shawls as well.

One of my obsessions is collecting Hornsea and Eastgate pottery. Well it was until I ran out of shelves and they became popular and hence expensive.

Hi all,  :)

QuoteI have a phobia about buttons,if I see some in a tin they give me a horrible feeling.

I have that one, and my sister does too. It goes back to a tin that lurked in the back of a kitchen cupboard when we were kids. Buttons but also needles and pins and stuff we were warned to stay away from !!!

Most of us have a phobia or two. I think our fears and the fears of others should be respected. I dispose of corpses of dead birds at work because the site manager can`t go near them. I used to need help on my plots with rodents and rodent corpses but if you`ve read my contibutions every time rats are mentioned on the forum you`ll see I got over that.

I collect mugs from places I`ve been and T-shirts that show I overcame my fears and went on collercoasters and scary rides.  If I go on a ride I want a T-shirt to prove it.

A neighbor died. His daughter was faced with cleaning out everything he saved. And she verbalized all her frustration of him leaving her with his mess- which was a whole basement full of boxes.

Listening to that changed my mindset about saving stuff so I'm currently trying to get rid of things (which goes against the grain, believe me! Lots of back-sliding!) Trying to go room-by-room.

I was at a friend's house for a meeting once. She'd sorted through one room and put all the bits and pieces she didn't want in a pile then invited everyone on their way out to help themselves if something caught their fancy. She was delighted to hear what people found as useful to them. :)

Not a daft idea. To some extent I've had to do that in that I had to "empty" 3 rooms for the decorators. A chance to review, reorganise and recycle. Lots to Freecycle and charity shops. Lots still waiting to be done. Having some bits of the house pretty clear I've decided I quite like minimalist. It's restful. What I am keeping either goes behind closed doors or in what my son likes to call "the library". If I could afford anything other than Ikea the books would be behind closed doors too. And yes I know Ikea do doors, but they don't seem to keep the dust out so defeat the purpose really.

Eristic I have the Martin Hunt Hornsea Concept teaset which I really love. the design is fabulous and has been much admired. I'm certainly not parting with that!

I collect rubbish so my OH says, i believe it all to be my treasures!

I have a bag full of buttons that belonged to my grandmother who died in 1957.  She had collected them over the years and they always came in handy when her grandchildren came to visit.  She would get them out for us to play with.  It is interesting looking through them.

I also collect iris plants, jars and postage stamps.

I collect original Venetian Masks.  It started when my parents brought me one back from Venice about twenty years ago.  Each time they went away to Italy, they'd bring me back another.  On special occasions my husband has one made for me.  Mine are all originals (none of that horrid UK seaside rubbish, lol)  I have some real stunners, very beautiful.  I keep saying I will take some pictures but I never seem to get around to it.

My husband had this one made for me the Christmas before last.  It's so beautiful and elegant.  It's about 9-10 inches high and takes pride in the middle of my collection.  I will take some snaps of my other favourites another day.
