I remember once seeing several small birds making a real racket round some logs. So I stopped and watched, and a weasel appeared. They don't like them at all, or anything else which is liable to eat them.

You caught that picture so well Carol, its so natural. Like it...a lot ;D
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

Once again a great pic Carol. As Star said so natural.

What a cute little furball :)
The handle on your recliner does not qualify as an exercise machine.

What a wonderful picture Carol.   ;D ;D ;D

I don't know whether I would be pleased or sad to see a stoat in my garden especially as they can kill chickens.

You wouldn't say that if it had its fangs in your thumb! They prey on rabbits, and they're extremely capable in the tooth department.

Stoats don't kill chickens they will keep rats down snails and slugs at bay. I have a family of stoats on the allotment where there are chickens.
happy weeding cheers buster

Well I saw a stoat kill a duck when I was a child and lived on a farm.....so I'd becareful of your chickens.

Thanks for your kind comments.  I haven't seen the Stoat for a week or two and hope it has gone until next Winter just in case it takes a liking to the local birds nests.  I know I have one or two in my garden.  I am eagerly waiting on Dunnock fledglings.  A Blackie is behind our shed in a conifer tree and another couple of Blackies next door.  So, shooooo  Mr/Mrs Stoat, go away.

My parents kept chickens and they lost some to a stoat or weasel.  If you do a Google search of "stoats kill chickens" you will find plenty of evidence.
