How come I can never get my peppers to grow like that ???  You certainly have the magic touch sanders ;)

Did i detect ripening tomatoes there? If do defietly green envy smilie! I have fruit on my toms  :)but no ripening as yet  :(

Yes we are picking toms. Tumbler come on line first about 5 weeks ago. Have been picking the odd Tiggerella and marmande over the last 2 weeks though yesterday picked about 3lbs of Marmande which have mainly been dried for use later in the year.

I started the seed in Feb under artifical light in a heated green house. Other varieties have been started later and will stagger the crop right through into the autumn I hope.

The peppers look very well this year, again started early. The flowers have set well and I am getting a good number of fruit per plant. Hope the chillies do as well.

No chance to take pictures at the allotment, this weekend was a complete wash out in Sussex. Pretty much constant rain!!!

Fab pictures Jerry, can I ask if you have any tips on getting fruit to set on peppers? I have two indoor and three in a small lean-to greenhouse outside, but have had a real problem this year in that the plants flower but no fruit sets.

I think I am just very lucky and rely in insect pollination on the whole.

I keep the peppers in uniformly damp compost, water little and often so that means twice a day in hot weather. They get fed a weak tomrite feed once a week.

The door of the greenhouse is opened each day if it is anything above 16 degrees centigrade. It is opened fully if we are forecasted a warm and sunny day like today. The roof vents are automatic so open as and when required.

I get large numbers of bees and other insects in the greenhouse who do the work for me. Peppers and Chillies are never a problem to get to set and I sometimes wonder about limiting the fruit to get larger peppers.

I have heard others discuss how they use the soft paint brush method, going from flower to flower brushing them to spread the pollen, that may well help you.
