OH told me I 'm supposed to get an azada!!! Unfortunately they are out of stock so I'll have to wait a bit longer, but never mind- something to look forward to, and an excuse not to do any digging until I get it!

Hyacinth

Last week I emailed my lot with instructions "No flowers. No plants. And please, please NO trees". How was I to know they'd already ordered something? :-[...still they were able to cancel....

But my request of a work of art drawn by the grand's underway I believe. 8) Looking forward to it :)

OliveOil

awwww... I had to give the kids a tenner to 'make me something'... I think they are making chocolates as my 9yo made some at cubs and the dog ate them an hour later!  That will teach him not to hide them on his bedroom floor!

My six year old daughter Grace has been so excited about MD, and has been 'secretly'  making things for me.  Unfortunately she has caught a really nasty bug that is doing the rounds, and we have been battling to keep her temperature down for two days (and one very long night).

My ideal MD would be that she is better, I don't like it when she is quiet and subdued, normally she never stops chattering.  I'm hoping for a noisy Mothers Day.

lorna

damdylion. Really hope Grace is feeling better tomorrow.

The strapping sapling is ...well... a bit strapped at the moment, so I'm getting a day's work in the garden this weekend and a day's work at the lottie next weekend. Doncha just love it when offspring are resourceful?

;D ;D ;D

Happy Mother's Day to all the mums, grand mums, step mums, mums-in-law...... ;D

Mine aren't up yet but eldest daughter has bought me "vegetable seeds for Africa" from Save the Children which I think is a great idea....and far preferable to them spending all their pocket money on over-priced flowers.  Youngest daughter has got me a guide-book to Paris that I chose (and paid for!) as I'm off there for the first time next month.

Have a great day all.

Now the proud owner of a blackcurrant, whitecurrant, and some more rhubarb.

Think the rhubarb is for OH though!

Going to MIL's for late lunch later where FIL will be cookng, OH and BIL have to lay the table, serve, clear and wash up, while us mum's sit down! ;D

Smile at your enemies.

It makes them wonder what you are up to.

Well as my kids are grown up and in three different countries other then England a visit is unlikely, phone calls usually come and go and cards,my John usually does the Mothers day thing but bless him he has forgotten I think, phone calls might prompt him. Have a super day with yiur families. XX Jeannine
When God blesses you with a multitude of seeds double  the blessing by sharing your  seeds with other folks.

I tend to get my mum a special plant for mothers day. I think its a much nicer and lasting gift than flowers or chocs. Most of these have done well over the years and are often at their best on subsequent mothers days. For instance one year i got her a Camelia, which took its time to get going but now this year has flowered its best yet. Last year I did a pot with a varegated carex, a purple leaved euphorbia (with green flowers) and tete a tete daffys. The euphorbia wasnt in flower for the day itself but the pot looked really nice from day one and still looks good now. In fact the euphorbia has come into flower just in time for this years mothers day.

This year i went for a dwarf evergreen azalea, potted up in a nice glazed pot on its own, a nice healthy plant with plenty of buds. Mum was delighted to receive it. I rarely get these things wrong! ;D

nippie

I have had two miniture roses and ivy in a glazed pot from my daughter, beautiful  :). I'm still waiting fo my son, he will get here when he wakes up I guess ;D
Friendship isn't a big thing.
Its a million little things.

OH has had a call from her mother who is feeling down, a visit from the florist while still in her PJ's a DVD and toast in bed from the boys... I'd taken her coffee when I got up!
;D
Oh yes and a set of bath bombs from "Lush" as she has to do all the spring diggin as I have hurt my back!

;D

Blue Bird

Bought myself a S/S Fork from Lidl the other week and gave it to eldest son to give to me (that reminds me not had the money for it yet)

Going to his house for Dinner tonight so will be getting it then.

Youngest son text yesterday to wish me Happy Mothers Day !!!

And been invited for a cuppa by the middle son later today

;D  Requested NO CHOCOLATES this year

Ah, the perfect presant for a bath loving gardener!. I love Lush stuff, even if it is a bit (lot) pricey.

I had a bag of bulbs off my daughter. Nothing off the three boys, but then again, I never do. I dont mind, as it is more their absent mindedness than anything else. I think it would induce a heart attack if they remembered any event other than Christmas, and that's only because there is such a big build up to it in the shops.

Happy Mothers Day!

have they got partners, I find my daughter and daughter in law remember and prompt their husbands into ringing/posting cards etc..my youngest sons single at the mo, unless my daughter reminds him, he forgets  ;D

caroline7758

Well, I got chocs in lieu of my delayed azada, plus more chocs from daughter no. 2,who has given up chocs for lent so won't be able to share them, a Forsythia from daughter no.1 and a card from impoverished student son (impressed that he didn't have to be reminded!)
