Popped to the plot tonite for an hours weeding, and I just couldn't help myself!  Look what I came home with.....

I know the radish are rather large, I thought they would be like wood to eat, but they are soooooooo juicy and hothothot!  My first ever kohl rabi - I have purple ones on the plot also but they are a little behind the green ones, an onion, just because....and a few broadies, loads still coming.

Clever girl!

We have 'mixed radishes' this year, & we're preferring the 'french breakfast' type. = Tim

Well done EJ ! It makes all the hard work worth while and your children are eating chemical free produce.

I put some French Breakfast III in with the parsnips. Pretty good -maybe too good the slugs have been gnawing them.

Great veggies EJ - so satisfying when you grow your own.  Never tried kohl rabi (showing my ignorance) what exactly do you do with it ??? ;)
Happy gardening all...........Pat

Mrs Ava

Wellllllllllllllllllll.......I looked online and it said use it like a spud, mash it, chip it, roast it or grate it raw into salads!  As that was the first, and as Ava isn't really into veggies like me, I mashed it with lots of pepper and butter, and rather yummy it was too!  ;D  They are beautiful looking plants also.

Gardengirl

Well there you go EJ, I learn something every day :D  Sounds great, will give it a go - thanks :)
Happy gardening all...........Pat

Always used mine grated raw, hardly ever cook it! (raw grated beetroot is very good too!)

Oh Doris, thanks for that - I love beetroot cooked or pickled but have never thought of raw grated.  will certainly give that a go.

Haven't tried kohl rabi either EJ but you make it sound tempting.
