I didn`t log on yesterday but suffice to say that I have only just seen this and the tears are pouring down my face.

Probably not the best place to post cos this keyboard is fuzzy.

Will-your mum thought the world of you-and rightly so.

She was one of the nicest persons it was my privelidge to call my friend

I will be making a donation to Thorpe Hall for all the help and assistance they have given mum and me and would welcome anyone else who felt like doing the same.

I have found the details of Thorpe Hall

You can send a cheque to Thorpe Hall, Thorpe Road, Longthorpe, Peterborough, PE3 6LW

or online http://www.justgiving.com/process/whitelabel/?_WhiteLabelId=1142

You can allocate the money to go to the specific Care Centre they were cared for by selecting the name from the drop down list. Remember to tick gift aid :-)

I usually looked for Supersprout's posts on the board because she had such a lot of information to impart. She was so helpful and kind, I couldn't find my Raddicho seeds and she immediately offered to send me some of hers...which I didn't need in the end as mine were found.
She always had something nice/supportive to say and lots of good ideas. i only live a little way away and had hoped I might meet her one day.

She was obviously a very brave lady amid everyones complaints about this or that I can't remember any indication that she was so ill. I don't think I could be that strong.

She is an inspiration to us all and I will miss her.

Love to you all,
Jude

I also contribute to the BBC gardening forums where I noticed some posts from 'Mulchmad' can someone tell me was that SS's other name. The pictures match.

I am so sad to read this. Sarah was an absulte inspiration to us all. A few weeks ago I posted about how I am expecting a baby and did anyone have some advice on how to garden with a bump. She sent me a lovely and very detailed personal message on how she overcomes gardening with a different kind of "bump". At the time I was not sure what she meant, but now I know she was struggling with cancer and still took the time to offer me wonderful advice, I am sitting at my desk at work with tears running down my face.

Son of sprout / Will - thank you so much for sharing the news with us at this difficult time for you and I hope you can take some consolation in the fact that your mum's memory will live on in the way that we all garden on a daily basis on our allotments, as she has taught us all so much.

Will, very sad news about your mum - there will be a gap on this forum, but we can fill it with warm thoughts and happy memorys.  Love and prayers to you and your family.

PS I am also signed up to do a Moonlight Walk for my local hospice, I am fortunate to not have lost anyone to cancer so I will do it in memory of your mum.

Thank you to all who donated to the Moonlight Half Marathon Walk in aid of St Catherine's Hospice - my mum and I raised just over £300!!!    ............     Thanks!  :-)

Thanks for the link Louise.

It was simple to make a donation on line. It's funny, but I feel better now. I couldn't help dear Sarah, but at least I could thank the hospice for their care of her.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss Will.  We will all miss your Mum so much she was such a kind and lovely person with such a good sense of humour.  Having just read your news and the posts that followed, I am too choked for words but I wish you strength through this difficult time.

I can only echo what everyone else has written here.

I always loved reading your Mum's posts - her knowledge, humour and enthusiasm shone through and were really inspiring. We will all miss her.

See my earlier post, Kea - Sarah Jones.

The time that I shall miss her most is 5am in the Summer, while I have a cup of tea before getting on with the hoeing. Great company!

Been away so would have added my condolences earlier. The site has lost a nice person. We'll all miss Super-Duper-Sprout.

So sorry to hear this news. I find it hard to believe that supersprout could continue to post so enthusiastically when she must have been so ill. I'm relatively new to this board but have gleaned so much from her postings. My deepest sympathy to all your family and friends, Will.

Oh no!

I am so sorry to hear of her passing.

But at least she spent some of the time she had left doing something she loved - passing on her passion and love for growing things.  An inspiration to us all.

God bless.

Yes she was Kea.

I have posted my thoughts elsewhere but would like to add here that, Will, I am sorry for your loss.  I regarded her as a good friend on a number of forums and I will miss her a very great deal.  I too shall be growing pink pumpkins in her honour.  I hope it is a comfort to you knowing just how loved she was by so many people.

I don't post often on A4A but would like to add my condolences Will, your mum was a grand lady who gave lots of good advice here, the BBC garden forum and GWD forum.  I am really sorry for your sad loss and I hope you take comfort in the messages on here from everyone who loved and admired her.
