Curryandchips

Tigerella (GH), and San Marzano (outside), and GD as a banker. Got loads of green san marzano last year, which made a superb curry sauce.

Derek :)
The impossible is just a journey away ...

manicscousers

tigerella, poly , lovely taste, good crop, gartenperle outside, pinky cherries, not as nice as some, lots though, gardener's delight, outside, lovely as always and supersteak, poly, brilliant, lots tasty, also grew golden sunrise in the poly, not as nice tasting as tigerella so won't bother again  :)

This is my list for this year;

Tomato   Lyn's plum*
Tomato   Keiths plum*
Tomato   Ailsa Craig
Tomato   Alicante
Tomato   Eddies*
Tomato   Feurtaventura(2 varieties)*
Tomato   Mammoth
Tomato   Moneymaker
Tomato   Calahonda*
Tomato   San Marzano
Tomato   San Pedro
Tomato   Spanish Moneymaker

The ones marked thus * are all saved seed from tomatoes I liked the flavour of.

When I don't know the variety I named them after their source.

As far as commercial varieties are concerned 'Moneymaker' takes a lot of beating for ease of growing, cropping & flavour so I will never be without this variety.

Barnowl

Repeating Santa F1, Shirley, Cerise, Idyll and a large Italian beefsteak variety I think is called 'Antico' (- can't work out the name on the seed packet neighbour brought back from Italy).

Lots of new varieties. including some supposedly early east european bush types.

agapanthus

"Grushovka" from Realseeds...
pink and a luscious flavour....bush variety that I grew outdoors
with no sign at all of blight....
definite winner for me ;D

tricia

I'll be growing Dombito again outside together with Harzfeuer (Lidl seeds originally, now I save my own) and three I received from Biscombe in Spain - Muchamiel, Marglobe and Rio Grande. GH varieties - still not sure. I have so many different seed packets it's difficult to choose.

We grew Shirley last year andloved them of course. also gardeners delight .which I didn't go much on apart from eating them straight from the plant whilst gardening. This year am growing Shirley again and some that I've ordered from Real Seeds called Gigante Liscio. can't wait to see what they are like
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Barnowl

Never having grown one before I  the black tomato I got to try out is Black Russian (from AlanRomans), but "Japanese Black Truffle" ?

Mrs Ava

Oh I likes the sound of Monkey Ass !!  The mind boggles.  ;D

Last year was Totem and Gartenperle (both of which I quite liked but wouldn't rave over but then it was my first year).

Largely due to the generosity of Lishka, Biscombe, Rosyred and my mum, this year:

Legend
Muchamiel
Tres Cantos
Tigerella
Golden Sunrise
Harbinger
Marmande
Gardener's Delight
Cream Sausage (we think)
Gartenperle
Ferline
Pineapple
Black Cherry

No idea where I'm putting any of them.  Suggestions gratefully received.   ;D

Oh and Biscombe, are Muchamiel and Tres Cantos Bush or Indeterminate ?  Blowed if I can find out !  :o

I have a long list of Toms 30+ at last count. Sungold, the only F1 allowed. Whippersnapper, pink and sprawling, and Red Peach with the furry skin are winners with me!
;D

Biscombe

Mrs KP they are Indeterminate :) Cant wait to grow them myself!!

MrsKP

More canes required !!!   ;D  Thanks Biscombe.    :D

For those of you with multiple varieties ( :o ) how many of each type do you grow for heavens sake  :D?  That sounds like a lot of tomatoes to me lol x
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened

MrsKP

i'm sowing six of each, hoping to get two plants out of each variety, even then i'll have trouble fitting them all in.  i had 7 plants last year, this year by my basic maths i'll have 26 and that's before i even start on the chillis, cucumbers and aubs.  Really must get that g/h fixed !

;D

Tigerela seems to be a popular choice. For me then its going to be Dombito, Black Russian and Tigeralla. I'm tempted not to bother growing outside this year yields have been poor and birds get more than we do.
