I'm panicking cos the weather's getting bad and haven't cleared the space for mine - 'swift' and 'electric' (red) - should be highly charged with names like that  ;D

Mrs Ava

Bloody hell, mine haven't arrived yet.  MUST dig out the paperwork tomorrow, or this weekend is going to be hunt the onion time!

Hmmm, shall be on the phone to Marshalls first thing!

RobinOfTheHood

Bought mine locally on Saturday, 900 grammes of 'Radar'....seems to be about 150-200 of them. £2.20 per kilo, how does that compare?
I hoe, I hoe, then off to work I go.

500g for £1.50 Senshyu Yellow locally here - similar?

Robert_Brenchley

I paid £1.20 per 500g; other local sources are more expensive. One place I looked at, which often has these things in earlier than my normal source, was selling them for £!.75 per 500g.

Mrs Ava

ooo ooo, I can reply!

I called Marshalls today and apparently mine were sent out on the 21st September.  Before they will investigate they informed me to go to the post office and ask them to look for them!!  I couldn't believe my ears!  I said to the lady, they will have hundreds of packets and parcels....how are they going to find this one....and she said, well they won't have hundreds of parcels of onions will they!  Anyhow, I am to call back tomorrow if the postoffice doesn't have them.  What is that all about!?!?!?!?  Gone right of Marshalls today!

Hyacinth

Must say, this abbreviated heading is cracking me up - thought KP had gone into hydroponics ;D

Well my Electra were bought at Wyvale (with token for free bulbs) - can't remember how much - only space for 40 in my onion patch & all are already showing green wispy growth.

I brought my Radar onion seeds from seeds-by-size, I was charge £3.24 for 1 gram plus postage. Seeing the prices quoted above I have the feeling of being ripped off.

I paid £5.50 for a duo pack from Marshalls (approx 200 onions) - I thought that was good  :)

Planted some seed onions but I don't hang on to much hope for them so as I was going to wyevale garden centre picked up 100 sets for £3.00. Bet the seeds have a spring in there growth now and I'll be stuck with 100's of onions, don't mind too much as use onions in most meals.
