I know it is not stuffing them Tim, but I have been slicing mine, squeeze of lime juice and S & P, nice french bread to mop up the juices, I have become addicted! ;D
They would be nice stuffed with a Bolognaise or Chilli too I would imagine, or a couscous type salad?

Veering off a bit, have similar book, Tim.1st chapter deals with the'Housewife'. Headings are :Early Rising, Treatment of Servants,Daily Routine and Duties,Giving a Letter of Introduction........  :-\

Any filling for me as long as it has Balsamic vinegar and/or basil in it -I'm happy.

layers of good buffalo mozarella, basil leaves, extra-v olive oil, avocado & seasoning.  Avocado likes alot of salt, trust me...! :o
