I KNOW that this is like asking for co-ordinates to the Holy Grail, but does anyone have any ideas on how to stop snoring?
I have slept alone for the past fortnight, after waking to discover that the O.H. has decamped to the spare room!
I am now getting told that in future, I am going to be the one that has to shift, and there have been hints that the noise is so loud - despite O.H's wearing of ear plugs, that the spare room may not be far enough!
I LOVE my greenhouse - but I don't want to sleep there!
I don't sleep on my back - does anyone have any suggestions?

Try Boots or Superdrug or similar...there are some strips you can get to stick on your nose, apparently they work. Friends marriage was saved by them !

Have a look here. Sure that peeps will come up with tried-and-true remedies, but here's a link and good luck. Hope it helps.

Katie's reply came up just as I was posting, but leaving the link anyway.

My darling snores, tis like sleeping next to a walrus who is mating with a wild boar!  He tried the nose strips, but they did nothing.  He snored less when he lost weight, but at the moment with his hayfever being bad, he is back to snoring again.  You can get menthal airfreshners to help you breath during the night, or try rubbing vicks into your chest (or according to my nan, the soles of your feet  ???).  I sometimes go to bed before him so that I am fast asleep before the noise starts.

Of course, when I am stressed, I grind my teeth and it has been rumoured to wake the neighbours!  ::)

A few factors that help OH...  and me

Lose weight, drink more water, cut back on the alcohol, change the number/firmness of your pillows.

tried the shockingly expensive snore spray - didn't really work and it thrown out last month after a few uses (it was out of date by a year...)

Have to say I am 100% in agreement with the weight theory.  When I weighed a lot loss and my husband weighed more, he snored like the earth was caving in.  Now he weighs a lot less and I weigh a lot more, he's stopped snoring completely and it's my turn to bring down the skies instead.

No, I don't smoke - but I will confess to being overweight, & liking a glass of wine with my meals.
This has come on suddenly however, with, if anything, my weight going down!
I found the links very interesting, & will go through them all.

My OH has had ( or rather, I had  :( ) a huge problem with snoring. He was referred to a consultant, he had a night in hospital wired up to monitors and being video'd so they could study his sleep pattern, breathing etc. They decided he has sleep apnoea
They gave him a mask ( forgotten the proper name sorry) it uses air pressure from a pump,
It is unbelievable the difference!! The first night he wore it I seriously thought it had killed him, he was utterly silent. Its not the most attractive machine but, oh the peace. Its lovely.
