i am giving up my allotment tomorrow, and i feel very sad about it. I love my plot.

my husband has a new job in Lowestoft so we need to move in January (we're in Whitley Bay area now).

when househunting though i will be getting a large enough garden to grow my own veg at home (and maybe have chickens) so that is positive.

i think i'll be a bit lost between gardens though but i'm sure i'll be back here all excited in 6 months or so when we have a new home..

Yes, a pensive and difficult time, but as you already realise, it should turn good in the end. All the best for the future ...  :)

I am beginning to think that it will not matter where I live or my circumstances, I will always have a lotty now.  The sharing part is part of the craic.  Sorry that you will be giving up lottying but you will not be the only garden lottier on these boards.

Legless. Sorry about your lotty. Wishing you all the best for the future. There are a few of us on here with only gardens so we can still enjoy your posts. Good luck.

Thinking of you - keep in touch??

legless

thanks all, its all a bit up in the air at the moment! i may get a lottie (never even been to lowestoft so no idea what the area, let alone allotment availability, is like)

i know i won't be without my vegetables wherever i go though, i enjoy it too much and i'll certainly keep visiting here.

Mrs Ava

Oh legless, don't be down, think of the new challenges of fruit and veggie growing ahead!!

Don't vanish!

Legless, sad bout your lottie, matey, but Lowestoft!! Sounds like back of beyond, but sis lives in Beccles which is very close, and Lowestoft has the most amazing white sand beaches, loads of entertainment, broads are close by, seals on the sand banks, Whatever you're into is there. It's where I did microlighting over sea......oh it's lovely! And best of all, you're only 30 miles away!!  ;D ;D ;D! Cheer up chook, you'll be happy as a pig in loads of muck! And if need owt just ring, am sooo close and will Pm no...
PS they have bungy jumping on trampolines too!!

Heldi

Legless...you'll be fine lass!  You maybe keep chooks...great then we can yarn about them together?!

New beginning, new beginning ,new beginning, new beginning. Say this every night before sleep.

well its me again, quick update as i can't stop reading all the growing threads and i am getting impatient!

house sold to first person that saw it, in the process if buying a nice 1856 fisherma's cottage with big garden, should be moved in a couple of weeks - still in good time to dig up the lawn and plant veg!! ;D

(i must stop getting my seed packets out of the box to look at them!)

hope you are all well.

Lovely to hear from you and hope it all goes smoothly for you.  It sounds wonderful buying a fisherman's cottage, so have you a sea view as well as a big garden?  It must be wonderful to live near the sea.  My dream....

Will look forward to hearing all about it and seeing photos of your new garden, keep us posted.

Good luck.

busy_lizzie

Jo, I somehow missed your initial post in December, so I didn't know about your move.  Endings are very sad but new beginnings are great, so I wish you all the very best.  It sounds as though things are running very smoothly and your fisherman's cottage sounds brilliant, a lovely part of the country too.  Are you re-locating your photographic business too?
Anyway, hope your move goes very well and you are very happy in your new home.  Happy planting in your new garden as you say  a very appropriate time to start your new veggie patch. love busy_lizzie  :)

thanks! no sea view but its only 100 yards away (as is the pub).

I'm not moving the photo business, taking a sabbatical. i have bookings up north until november but i have applied for a zoo keeper job in the animal park near new house (i have done it before and its a great job).

Merlins Mum

All the best Legless with the move and the new job.  Hope it all goes smoothly

Zoo Keeper, does that mean we will be seeing exotic poo in the swapshop, put me down for a bag of Lions & Tigers mixed cat scarer.
And only 100yards to free seaweed!
Good luck with the new veg-patch.

Jo !!

Like busy lizzie, i completely missed your initial thread... and had wondered why I had

not seen you on your plot!  It all sounds very exciting from where I'm sitting, but can

understand your sadness at leaving your plot. Hope everything goes well for you!

Wishing you lots of luck for your new future.  Keep us updated & perhaps piccies?

No excuse from a photographer!

i'm actually very excited, i've never had a garden before at all - ever. so i have to learn about lawns and flowers and stuff too! and i have a little front garden too, and hanging baskets. eek!

i am hoping zoo poo is the way forward, my husband says he will disown me if i start wheeling barrows of the stuff down the road!

i just want to plant stuff, my windowsills are empty of chitting spuds and seed trays, which is not good.

Doris_Pinks

Legless, so glad to see you here, was wondering where you had gone! We too are in the process of selling and buying, arggggghhhhh  but the one we have put an offer on has the prospect of a few chickens being kept, so know how exciting it can be!! Trouble is it has 4 ponds, now I likes ponds, but methinks a few would need to be filled to get flowers in the garden, mine would be a 5 min walk away from my plot, noooo it has NO bearing on me wanting it at all! ;)
So fingers crossed for you that you get what you wan't, oh and HOW expensive is it going to be..our Lawyer is quoting £150.00 oer hour plus VAT! ...............................................I should have bin a lawyer! ;D
