Margaret

Hi all. Please can you all cross your fingers ,toes,or whatever comes to hand on Friday at 10 am cos that is when hubby goes for an interview for a job! still within the company but at last,a proper offer (we hope).ON HIS LAST DAY!Talk about cutting it fine. :o

Downside is it is a long way to travel, but I don't think that is a consideration any more.He has applied for a job closer to home, outside of the company, but it might be a week or two before we hear anything. The job that was  offered before xmas has fallen through,so this is really his last chance.  ???

Relying on you my friends. What would i do without your support?

Here's to him.Let you know as soon as !! :)

- gives me a nasty feeling in my midrif.

Six months seeking employment on retirement at 55 did nothing to boost my morale. And that was with a backup pension. Thank God for 27 years self-employment.

We'll all be thinking of you both. = Tim

Thanks to each and every one of you.he is feeling very low and confused tonight.he still believes everyone has given up on him.How can employers treat someone so loyal and hardworking like this.

yes I know I am biased but I know him.Everyone who works with him says it is a crying shame he is leaving.

Well folks,i thought by now I would have some positive news....but the saga goes on.His interview this morning went well;but he said it was the hardest he has ever been put through. The place he thought he would be going to has been filled, but a much bigger challenge awaits in a similar position nearby with a more neglected dealership. However, they have had a few applicants so it is all down to a decision on a short list in ANOTHER weeks time.HELP!!

However, when he got back to work he found an email from a nearer place, though still a fair amount of travelling.they are without a manager and have asked if he would like to go for an interview on monday afternoon.SO ANOTHER WAIT.I tell you,it is killing me.But again it looks promising, but sadly come 6pm tonight he will be unemployed. The break in between jobs is NOT what I wanted but it seems inevitable. We can only hope for some luck on Monday,or with the other job from today.

So folks, not good news, but not TOO bad.I am trying to be positive.I still cannot believe they are just letting him walk out the door tonight when there are so many things he could do.But that is the reason why he has wanted to get out anyway,I suppose. The other 2 jobs on the horizon are in a different region under different managers,so it may prove beneficial in the long run.

So I am afraid I won't know any more now till next week but I will obviously keep you posted! Thanks again for all your good wishes, and come monday 2.30pm it will be time to cross everything again, please ,if you would be so kind!!

Ok we will all cross finger and pray to mother nature for monday at 2.30.
Keep being positive for hubbys sake he needs all the support he can get.
Just tell him deep breath chest out head held high and show them what hes made of and most of all were all behind him.
Cyber hugs

Margaret, my heart goes out to both of you.  If it's any help, I have been on the back burner since last April, now have to be signed out of my job just cos I am awaiting op that did not arrive quickly enough!  Will be able to work to full strengh afterwards but they can't afford to keep it open so, like hubby, will have to start all over again!  Don't lose heart!  You have each other for support!

Something good will come out of all this, even if it's not quite what either of you would necessarily expect!

LOL and hugs

Hi Margaret, try and keep smiling. Things like this often happen for a reason and in a couple of weeks you will hopefully be able to say that it was a blessing in disguise. At least he is out of an impossible situation so that could only be good.
Take Care, Love Dandy ;D

Thanks, all of you,yet again.he is still trying to remain optimistic, and if the one on Monday doesn't work out,and the other one does,he says he is ready to face the challenge,so this whole experience has not put him off.He did walk out with his head held high tonight. And he says he has no regrets.

I have calmed down a lot too because it is out of our hands now.All those false promises. Why did they bother?

We are spending the weekend writing letters and applying for 2 more jobs in the paper,so it feels good to have something to aim for.And yes,I can see the change in him so I know it was the right thing to do.I suppose it will only be time and a lack of offers that will get him down,so,like I said we must remain optimistic.

Once again,a million thanks just for you all being there .It means a lot.You are a fine bunch!!
