I doubt that anyone can come up with an answer that hasn't already been voiced in the last week or so.

Infuriating, isn't it? Just touch them & they drop off.

Scan down the boards and do a search - include things like aubergines, beans and tomatos.  There has been loads of discussions about pollination recently. Must be the time of year  ;D

since my post,i have found out that it can happen because of transpiration, and also day and night temperatures.

Forgive me if you already have been told this - but have you tried misting them - I had tomato blossom drop and found the solution was to wet the flowers regularly - best sprayed - apparently chillis like to be watered in the morning!

AT LAST...on five flowers the petals ard dying away, and the stalk is staying green hehe..hopefully that now means it is not gonna drop off..

fingers crossed

I'm growing Habaneros along with a couple of others and they are definitely far later than the others.  I grew them for the first time last year and remember that the chillies didn't start forming until mid July but then carried on until October.  I did have to hand pollinate and mist almost daily though.  This year Ring of Fire has romped away with upwards of 20 chillies per plant already, Auroras are about 15-20 per plant whilst the Habs are still only 2-3 per plant but lots of new flowers.
