Warm wellies?

I know everywhere is probably sold out for now, but can anyone recommend any boots that are waterproof, warm and don't cost a fortune?

Yes I'm on look out too..I can find warm and waterproof but they do cost fortune. I've just repaired my old winter wellies from Cotton Traider..sadly they don't sell them in here anymore..they've been brilliant. So mine has now couple of bicycle repair patches on..to keep them going on for while longer..untill spring and then I might get a new pair for cheaper ::)
Hmm..I must check Cotton Traiders web site if they still do them.

Yes, I saw some good ones in the Cotton Traders outlet store at York before the winter arrived- will have to wait until the new year sales, I guess.

They are very warm and comfortable and have been excellent in the snow.

I was put off Cotton Traders waterproof trainers when the sole came apart from the upper when I was on my plot and I had to fasten it around my foot with string!

"Muckboots"  from our local army stores were about £30 whenI bought them last year- they are only calf length but they do a knee length version. a lot of "horsey" people apparently use them.
If want to spend more than "Hunter" wellies and the fleece socks are good- and kept the snow from going down the top of the wellies. Both have thick soles and good at keeping feet warm.
I need to get about for my job so have to have good footwear.
I've heard the shops in Chesterfield are a "welly free" zone now-all sold out so good luck where you live.

Fur lined rigger boots from screwfix under £20. They will keep the water out like wellies if treated right and steel toecaps for safe digging.

Unfortunately they only start from size 7, Ace- they obviously don't believe female riggers exist!

I bought some Ryder wellies, neoprene lined from Yorkshire trading.  £25.  Very warm indeed.

If you are talking gardening boots.. then I'd recommend getting a fleecy thermal insole for normal wellies. I think I got mine from Timpsons, and they do the job for me despite being allergic to cold.

Have some rigger boots but they are too big for me and ridiculously clumpy and hard to walk in, but they are certainly warm!

For daily non-gardening use I have just bought some Keen Hoodoo boots which are warm, light, and waterproof, but not cheap. A friend has just recommended www.hawkshead.com, havent tried their boots but they are cheap and I wish I'd seen their website before forking out megabucks for trendier ones!

The Cotton Traders wellies as shown on goodlifes link are absolutely brilliant for keeping your feet warm. I was a bit hesitant about buying them because of the leg and foot part being different materials but it's never caused me a problem. They are a sturdy high quality boot.
Think I paid about £25 for them in a brown colour in their sale about 2 years ago.

Yes..I think I payed about same at the time too..but now they are asking £40 for them :o
I'll just 'bite' my time and the sales will come again..I noticed they are all sold out for now ::)..but I'm sure they will re-stock if they are that good sellers.
Those boots have become our 'national' lottie shoes..every other one on our site has got a pair or two ;D

I have Orlang boots but the price has gone up since i got them a couple of years back but you are only going to get what you pay for bewareof the ones sold by Netto the stitching does not last very long Lidl have some coming on specail offer

yes, I wouldn't use them for digging!  But then the temperatures they are worn in, one wouldn't be able to do any digging!!!  ;D  I am not sure I could justify the price now, but a few years ago I could.  last year in the -18 degrees... I had a LOT of people ask where I bought them from as they wanted a pair...

they don't look "leather trimmed" when my trousers are over the top, all one sees is the rubber bases!
