Hopefully we are moving soon, fingers crossed all goes well :)

It means goodbye to my double plot.Sadly the area we are moving to has waiting lists on all five of their Allotment sites. That along with knowing I am due another hospital stint soon has made me decide to give up on allotments.

Feel really sad about it,end of an era.

I will have a small courtyard area so hope to try out many different things in pots and window box's,plus maybe able to do a bit more with my caravan garden.

The good thing is that someone will get a really nice plot..........a bomb site when I first had it.

Hope the new tenant will love it as much as I do. :)

so sorry you're having to do this but, on a positive note, I'm glad you still have access to somewhere you can grow stuff, I'm so lucky Ray is able to do all the hard work, otherwise I'd be trying in window boxes, good luck with your move and your hospital stint, hope it all works out well for you x

Good luck, Betula, with the move, you'll soon adapt, I'm sure  :) :) :) :)

I hope it all goes smoothly for you.

Good luck with the move, Betula. I got a book for Christmas that I'd requested because I'm thinking about giving up my plot- "Crops in Pots" by Bob Purnell. Haven't had time to read it yet but the pictures are inspiring!

sounds like you'll be growing more around your caravan, Den!! ;)
You couldn't make it up!

Good luck Betula :)I hope everything turns out well for you.

Betula you must have very mixed feelings at the moment!
Take heart though as I know someone who only has a small courtyard filled with containers and window boxes who grows all sorts of flowers, fruit, herbs and vegetables.
I'm sure that all will go well with your move and hospital stint!  Take care.
Flighty's plot,  http://flightplot.wordpress.com,  is my blog.

You can still grow some fantastic vegetables even in a small garden and herbs are often more useful near the house than at an allotment site anyway. I'm sure it's a sad time leaving the allotments though, would really hate to have to leave my allotments.

Good luck!  :)

Cheers

good luck betula i hope all goes well for in the future
don't do tomorrow what can be done today.

Best of luck Betula. It must have been a hard decision.

You do not need an allotment to come into the Chat room, ask me or Georgie!
Gardening is the great leveller.

Georgie

Good luck with the move, Den.  I know you are going to miss your lottie but think what fun you'll have competing with me to grow things in a tiny space.   ;D

Thanks so much for the support.I know that everyone on here will understand exactly what I am feeling at the moment.

I am really looking forward to the move as I will be a lot nearer my little Grandson.Hope to have lots of Nan time  :)

My little bit of land has been a good friend,a haven when you want to get away from it all and will miss the battle to get it to the table.Nothing like it. ;D

I am looking forward to experimenting with the pots....no doubt will be after lots of advice. :)

Digeroo

I have only just started with allotments but it would be shattering to give it up.  I feel for you.

I hope that you put your name on the waiting lists just in case you are able to change your mind in the future.  Have you seen those sets of steps on which you put pots so that you can increase the height of your growing?

betula

What a good idea,I have an old set of caravan steps so they may be just the ticket  ;D

emmy1978

I did cry when I left mine!  :'(
I'm sure all will go well for you and as Georgie says-think of the fun and planning of growing in a small space!
Don't throw paper away. There is no away.

What a shame, but as you point out you will be nearer your grandson, which sounds like a silver lining to me  :)
Wishing you good things for 2010 and hope your hospital treatment goes quickly and well

Take care
