Someone's kidnapped one of our scarecrows!

We put him near the gate so that our visitors yesterday would be able to find us but when I went to bring him back in, he had gone.

I wonder if we'll get a ransome note?

I don't think we'll get him back, his body parts are probably scattered all over the park by now.

I did think of emailing the local Police Station (it's almost opposite the allotments and we get on well with them) and sending a photo but I'm not sure what their sense of humour is like and didn't want to be accused of wasting police time.

1066 - I'll send the photo to the local free paper, it will be a laugh if they print it.

I think you should go to the Police Station.  He looks a bit of a wino to me and he may have been arrested for disorderly conduct and thrown into a police cell.   ;D ;D

What a thing to do, is nothing safe any longer? Think you could get in touch with the local paper, just to raise awareness, though you don't want to encourage any copycat incidents either.

We have just had reported a series of crop stealings at our site. Someone broke into a plotholders shed and stole all of their stored onions and garlic, and a row of beetroot was dug up and brussel sprouts taken from other plots. it seems such a mean thing to do after all the work people have put into growing them.  >:( busy_lizzie
