Is anyone else an allotment spotter on train journeys?
Saw loads of allotments from the train today on my journey from Norwich to Shenfield - love looking at them from train windows and  always wonder if they belong to any of us A4A members.

Emagggie

Yes, me! I've been up to London from Southend quite a few times recently and played spot the allotment...and wondered if anyone there posts here ;D
Smile, it confuses people.

Hi lightyears! welcome to the site!

Hi Wattapain,

Wow -  I had two plots on Cut Throat Lane for ages until about 2 years ago.   I live in Braintree so you can imagine how excited I was to get a plot at Station Lane in Braintree (for this reason I gave up the Witham plots).   I live in Braintree so Witham was a 'better than nothing but not perfect site'.

The 'old boys' on the site were great - I found it hard to leave without flowers, fruit or whatever veg had been harvested that week, especially if (as usual)  my attempts at horticulture had failed for whatever reason.

Good luck - Your posting has reminded me of all the really good times I had at Cut Throat Lane.  I loved it, but it must be a 'finalist' for the ugliest site in the UK .

I always play 'spot the allotment' on the way to Liverpool Street in the morning - perhaps we should all carry a 'seed potato' or something.

Brilliant Post EJ.

A group of five of us have just taken on an allotment in Peterborough. All novices on the vegetable growing front but by the time we get all the weeds and grass cleared off our plot we will hopefully have picked up lots of useful info from this fab site!

I think I've got the right one but Bristol is definitely not in East Anglia :)

Welcome to the site anyway!
