Hi all, got called to the hospital this morning but when I got there it was to late and my Father had passed away.  I am at a total loss he was one man that i really looked up to, never known a chap that had worked, no grafted all is life. The last thing he said to me last night was to plant his potatoes in the greenhouse for him, and that is where I have just come from  could not settle until I had set them even though he will not be here to eat them, God I miss him so much he was always up the allotments with me and knew so much about gardening, I am so so down and do not know how to carry on without him he taught me so much in life.
Speak to you all soon,
                                      Richard.

It's funny with allotments isn't it? We connect with other people and have closer relationships with family members if we share the ground.

And the memories are priceless.

What a shock for you. My sincere condolences to you and your family for the loss of your dad, I understand totally about needing to plant those potatoes.

This really has been a rotten week.... :(
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

losing your dad is horribly sad, there are no words to describe the feeling.
take heart though that the feeling does slowly turn to smiles at the gentle memories ;)
remember that no matter where you are, your dad will never be more than shadows breadth away from you, especially down at the lotty xx
if you need a chat, feel free to pm or email xx

keeping you and your family in my thoughts.

i wasnt there when my dad passed away, and i felt terrible for a time i am now grateful that i remember him sitting up in bed and talking. i would far rather remember him like this.

You planted the spuds. That is what he wanted.
I still have my father's ashes in the house after 14 months. Must take down to the plot at scatter.

Thinking of you and your family.
