So did you Mum's all get spoilt and get to do what you wanted? I got croissants in bed with a pot of tea, and a tulip in a vase  ;D  George Michaels' new CD wrapped in home made paper with big hearts all over it ;D ;D and roast beef is being prepared as I type ;D ;D ;D What a lucky Mum I am!

You beat me to it DP :D  Was just going to start a thread and noticed yours ;D

I got a beautiful orchid plant from daughter and and lovely rose flower arrangement and box of chocs from son.  Daughter prepared dinner. I have been enjoying myself out in the garden and greenhouse this afternoon now that the gales have subsided.  Have really enjoyed the day :) :) :)

Do I take it that you don't know where your Mum is?  If so, that is very sad :( :'(

It's on a different date every year Oz 'cause it has to be on a Sunday.

By the way HAPPY BIRTHDAY :-* :-* ;D

Had  Sunday lunch out with both of my lovely children.  Got big tray of Belgian Chocolates off Matt and Mummy Mug, Photo in frame, and wooden windmill flower off Gillie for the garden.  A very Happy Day though torrential showers more or less all day. Hope all Mothers feel very special today.   ;D ;D busy_lizzie

Well, the day is nearly over.  We had my mum to stay for a long weekend, so I was pampered, and i had to do some pampering!  Coffee in bed with cards, chocs and this months GW mag.  Then down to the lottie just to check for wind damage, then bought myself a wonderful black stemmed bamboo, a combination pressie, Christmas (as the inlaws paid for the shed for our wedding anniversary), wedding anniversary and mothers day.  It stands a glorious 10 foot and is stunning.  The wind has howled all day long, but I did manage to get some more seeds sown.  A great mothering Sunday was had in Essex today!  ;D

Had one of the best chats with me Mum on Mother's Day, about love, life and dieting, while she cooked yummy scones (well, once a mum, always a mum) - was so great to see her smile when I gave her much M&S gift vouchers, with instruction not to spend it on drink and drugs (what she always used to say to me :-)

Me love my mum and was nice to show her.... :)

My mum got nothing from me, I didn't see her and I didn't even speak to her on the phone. Does that make me a bad daughter? No. She's desserted me to go on holiday!  ;D

Oz - Mother's Day changes every year because the Christians adopted/stole the celebration from an ancient Greek (I think) celebration of some mother goddess whose name I've forgotten. I think it's connected with the start of spring and new life and all that.
gone to pot :D

I got a posy of daffodils and eucalyptus leaves from my little one, and a card from my daughter in London.  The card had a list of words in to describe what I mean to her - I spent most of Sunday in floods of happy tears.

Doris_Pinks

Glad to hear you all had as good a day as I! Shame it is not mothers day every Sunday  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D (tho that would mean I would have to get mine a pressie every week, I wouldn't mind tho ;D)

Happy gardening, Robin x
