I've just got back from the longest, coldest walk...brrrrrr....scuse spelling, but fingers frozen....
I decided to treat kids and OH to a hot choc and piece of cake in town, went to my normal spit and sawdust cafe, and it was a tad spruced up, didn't really pay attention til the bill came....3 hot chocs, 1 coffee and 4 small pieces of cake..£18.90!!!!!  :o :o :o
Wandered home up my normal route, 3 shops I use, gone (bric and brac, ironmongers etc..) in their place? 3 Designer clothes shops.....a scarf? Only £93.....
I'm running away to live in the Outer Hebrides with 6 sheep and a bucket... my town will soon die, and there'll only be room for the very, very wealthy......Lord knows where my kids will live when they're grown.. :(

We need to club together, buy and island and set up the self sufficient A4A commune.  Might be a few arguements about how to grow stuff, dig/no dig, raised beds/sunken beds, organc/vegan organic.

Did you watch Castaway thing on the Beeb when all those peeps were abandoned on the western isle?  They all supposedly were singing from the same hymn sheet but it became glaringly obvious that some of em were poles apart.   More like Lord of the Flies .  Oh well it takes all sorts  :)

I'd go for it like a shot!! As long as I can bring my new bucket...I'd like to be in the middle of nowhere, well it'd have to be somewhere, or I wouldn't be anywhere... ???

I remember that programme well. I suspect that the Beeb put together people who they thought wouldn't get on just to make it a bit more interesting ie the gay bloke and the Jehovah's Witnesses

  Mean this in a good way folks..(Honest I do) but you folks from south of the
  border would not last with the weather we get up here...and the further
  north you go the worse it becomes...summer is a walk in the park...this ones

I'm originally from as far north in Scotland as you can go without falling off the maindland edge but no I'll keep my life here in Edinburgh with my beloved lottie, Arthurs Seat, plenty of parks and Portobello/Cramond 15 mins either way - best of both worlds I reckon........ except that 2 tiny cups of coffee were £3 and 2 tiny icecreams £4 at theatre this afternoon - but the show was wonderful and I wouldn't have got that up north!!

I'm beginning to think that it's not going to shows that is expensive, it's the mortgage you need to buy the sweets...though I do import them now... ;D
