Don't live on an island if you want to live cheaply. I cost me £45 every time I want to go anywhere. Still on the bright side it keeps the riff-raff off. Unfortunatley a certain Essex girl slipped through the net earlier this year. ;D

Keep your eyes open in may as there is likely to be great garden show over here on the south island if I can get off of this forum and start organising it.

This thread could really get me ranting and raving but I will refrain coz its late .......................................... my sister in law and her clan live on Isle of Man, it has its commercial areas mainly around Douglas, but get onto the west coast and it is my idea of heaven.................................................must visit again soon :)

Tis very expensive though to get on and off the island!

UC Don't forget the injection equipment, the best sort is an automatic one. You have to inject the baby piglets at a few days old, otherwise they will get iron deficiency. (Unless things have changed since I had the job).Baby piglets are oh so cute.

Aha!! See, I can surprise you now Lorna.....I used to cut the piglets teeth for dad on his pig farm!  ;D ;D ;D Can hurl straw bales, drive a tractor slowly and badly, row...erm.....feed calves....so on the livestock front I should be OK...it's this fawcet business concerning me at the min and I still haven't located my pigs saddle...and yes, I did.....used to sit on them and ride them.....but shhhhhh.... :-X

UC My sincere apologies, I forgot for the minute that you are of farming stock. ;D
We were real amateurs but Charlie so loved animals that when we had a bit of land and buildings it gave him the opportunity to house, sheep, bullocks, pigs,ponies, calves, chickens.Only thing was he was an old softy and when it came to sell the bullocks he conveniently had to be elsewhere when the cattle truck came!!!! So when I win the lottery will you came and be my manager on the farm??

I was desperate to study agriculture at Uni, but my dad, bless him, was a bit old fashioned, so I wasn't allowed....being a gal and all.. :'(
He has since held his hands up and said he made a mistake, so I thwacked him, and let him off with a stern finger waggling....after all, I have my plot and now your farm to manage!!! Thanks chuck! Speaking of which, can we have chooks?

Whippet. I bet you felt it. I consider my central heating very good but I found myself checking all the radiator to see if they were functioning correctly. Much warmer for you today. :)
