It is with deep regret (not) that I today announce the death of Mr Rat. He was a truly awkward customer with his digging of trenches and outsmarted me for quite some time. However the lure of the poison was clearly too much for him.

R.I.P.

If you don't make mistakes, you'll never make anything!

AT LAST ;D Hope he hasn't got a large family :( Your motto must now be "If at first you don't succeed"  Lorna.

I know people who own rats and adore them like any other pet.

But there is something about rats that make them very unsympathetic to me.  Is it that long tail or is it the knowledge that they bring disease and death ::) :-\ :-X

RIP Mr or Mrs Rat.
Enjoy today to the full.  You are not sure of a tomorrow.

Keep baiting at least till you finish your poision....cause if you got 1 you
have a family of em thats for sure !!

Mrs Ava

Agree with Jaggy......there is never just one!

Well done and good riddance Meester Rat!

Carol

I agree with Jaggy as well.  When I had trouble with Mr Rat Jnr and the exterminator came he found 3 nests in my garden and in fact I had quite a few rats around.  It was the young rat I kept seeing running back and forward to my pond and then looking out a hole in one of my walls.  I havent had a rat in my garden since we built a 3ft high wall all the way round the garden.

They were maybe watching the asda lorries Carol.. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Jane....now the weathers changing... watch where you thought they
were coming in.... if they are still there  you will be able to make out
a track...as good as slabs they mark out the run....when they are no
longer...the track will dissapper...... Heldi and Lottie...be extra vigilant
as the weather gets colder Mr rat...will sniff out layers pellets, wheat.
and corn...make sure all feeders are uplifted at night that way he will
only get what hens have left on ground......not to worry you will smell
him before you see him....his urine you cannot mistake !!! (I hasten to
add...that last comment does not mean I am in the habit of smelling all
   urine !!! )   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Heldi

Thanks for the warning Jaggy.

We used to own rats as pets and some of them were lovely creatures! I say some, as the males tended to be stinky and moody - not unlike human males! lol!

Tame rats and wild ones are totally different things and I wouldn't tolerate the wild ones!

R.I.P. ratty :'(...well done jane the novice! :)
