 - those fat stems of Asparagus - seeing you struggle with the urge to take just one more pick!!.

Couldn't possibly do any harm??

Just chuck some fleece over & pretend they're not there!

Wouldn't dream of growing asparagus Tim, much too exotic for a beginner !  ::) ::)

Tim, at the local huge asparagus farm in Kent, they told me they will stop cutting on Tuesday, 21st.  :'(  :'(  but will have the lovely stuff for sale until Saturday 25th.  We have a kilo in the fridge for the weekend, and  so have to get another bundle in before next Saturday!

I've just done one more last pick!!

good good good!  I spotted 2 nice chunky spears today, but left them there.  I shall have them away when I next go and have them with a globe artichoke and a couple of pounds of butter!  ;D
