There's a post on the GW boards that says DIY chains are removing pesticides conatining nicotinoids form their shelves but garden centres are not.............

Just signed it, especially poniant since our government failed to act last year to do the same , let hope Europe can force them into it.

Great.  There's another petition about this circulating in the USA where they've picked up on the European activity to ban nicotinoids.  Apparently their government isn't planning to review the pesticides situation till 2018.  Powerful lobbyists these big agrichem companies.
