This beauty paid us a visit today. The colours are stunning. We put it back into the garden and it's still there. :)
Smile, it confuses people.

Never seen the moth but the caterpillar is a strange looking thing  ;D

An Elephant Hawk Moth :o That'll impress the grandchildren even further. We took a walk round the garden with the 'book' to see if we could identify any other butterflies or moths but there were none. (My Buddleias had a late pruning and are not quite in flower yet)
Mal I have a pic of the caterpillar, a somewhat gruesome looking thing. :-\
Just been out to see if it's still around and it is in the same place as we put it. Given it a tickle and it's still alive.

I had to stop oe of the plot holders squashing one last year, maggie. He was frightened of it  ::)
I think they're great and will now look out for the moth  ;D
