Good grief, it's very stormy here in west Essex too! Doesn't sound quite as bad as yours, RP, we've not had snow but the wind and rain is absolutely terrible!  We put loads of plasterboard outside the front door last night as my husband is re-fitting the kitchen and I expected to find them all down the street this morning but thankfully still wedged between the front porch shed and front door!!  I'll probably be collecting the rubbish bins and bringing them back several more times though ::) :-\

I went to the allotment first thing to let the chooks out, and anything not bolted down has been blown everywhere.  One of our neighbouring allotmenteers is a builder and always has stacks of useful stuff on his site.  Two of his tarpaulins have blown across our lottie (onto empty beds, so no harm done) and a job lot of empty plastic barrels is now strewn across the whole site.

Many thanks for this thread, I made me pop down to my allotment and some of the bottle cloches had  blown off my peas.  The voles etc would have soon polished them off.  Now they are all tucked up again.

I went to our lotty this morning after e-mail saying a Tornado hit our site  :'( we got down there and our shed was still standing our frames with mesh were broken and a good 3lotty's away, but we were lucky ,we help push up sheds that were still in one piece at lest 12 were fire wood ,sadly the cemetery had very old trees, they were also fire wood! even grave stones were snapped in two !one lotty lady said she was walking her dog, when they were caught in it, she had to lay on the dog as it was being lifted of the ground, she was 20 mtr form the Tornado !

Just got back from the garden, did a quick sprint when i got there.  The wind at my back and a very strong gust got me and i was off, i could see the the North Sea in the distance and thought " forgot me trunks" but then this black shed zoomed out of the darkness. it was unmovable and i was unstoppable it won

I lost one panel out of ther greenhosue, whiich I thought was getting off lightly.

I dont see this as a storm, i see it as renewing the supply of free roadside firewood.
Nothing is ever as it seems. With appropriate equations I can prove this.

I saw a merkin whistling by in the wind, it must be in France by now.

Very sorry to hear that, hope you can salvage something.

Very scary weather last night, couldn't sleep wondering if the roof was coming off the house.

The remains of my greenhouse, 4 panes of glass survived, they already have a home to go to, one persons disaster is another persons fortune.
I think there are too many bits of torn metal to be able to reconstruct it, so it is just spare parts.

Looks a bit like my shed.

Oh dear Chrispy, looks like you are going to be a bit busy :(
Save some of the pieces yourself then you can put extra bracing in your next greenhouse.
