It can be quite slow to take... you should smear the berries into the bark of an oldish apple tree apparently...  :-\

Thought it grew best in the west of the country?

It grows rampantly in my part of Essex but I try repeatedly to get it to grow on the apple trees on my allotment but in the 11 years of trying, nothing!  I wouldn't mind but it smothers everyone else's apple trees.

I try every year ..haven't been successful yet .

Aren't there different varieties for different trees?  I see lots on the limes down at Mottisfont, but I think if you want to grow it on an apple you need seed from an apple variety don't you?

An interesting point Unwashed, I tried to grow some last spring. I tried crabapple, oak and Hawthorne. But nothing happened....the seeds came from apple and willow. I will try again and keep the seeds seperate this time. ;)
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.
