The Norfolk Food Discovery Project have taken on a plot on one of our association's sites, it's been dug over by the 'community payback' crew, and they are also going to assist in putting up a polytunnel tomorrow.

was there a 'hint' of sarcasm there, Jim?

I don't know about your personal experience of using the 'community payback' scheme (also known as workers for free) but I can only speak as I find. They have done work for our association on several sites, and there has been plenty of praise from the (previously sceptical) tenants on all of the sites. They work in all weathers, clearing brambles,  trees and weeds from derelict plots /areas, fill holes in roads, load skips with debris, etc etc. they even worked in the snow in December! Perhaps it's because they have excellent, well trained and experienced probation staff to supervise them. ( soon to end as the Tory-led government are going to privatise this part of the probation service to a Company called 'Serco' )  >:(

Interesting thread Tony, When are you putting the skin on, windy weather forcast though might not reach you yet. But I think warm weather helps to get it taught, so may be not planned yet?

the 'community payback' team are doing more work on the structure tomorrow, probably putting the skin on next week.

all 3 of ours went on in winter, not windy though  ;D
