brewed a cup of tea thurs, spilt the lot over key board on the laptop, NOW NOWT WORKS!!
that cup of tea has cost me £400.00  for a new  machine

Can you open it up and rinse it out?  You have nothing to lose.

Same thing happened to some one I know.

They actually had insurance cover and got the lot replaced.

Several weeks later, after the damp had dried out. They found that it worked perfectly.

I also spilt a drink on my keyboard some time ago.

Bought a new one (not a big cost) kept the wet one and several months later, just for the crack tried it again and it worked.

So, don't give up.......the light at the end of the tunnel could be turned off for a temporary period only......

Don't give up on it yet! I've seen a few coffee accidents in my time as a Uni IT tech, and usually the laptop just needs a new keyboard. Cost of part = about £20, half hour max to fit (if you know what youre doing). The hardest bit is finding where the screws are hidden, but there are loads of instruction vids on You-tube and its surprisingly easy!

Sometimes keyboards start working again if you turn them upside down and dry them out. Not if its a cup of Baileys though, as I once did  ::)

I too have spilt drinks on a keyboard but it was on my main computer, not a laptop. 

It usually starts working again once I have got most of the drink out with kitchen roll but then one or two keys start sticking. 

I have found that the keys can be levered up and out so it can be cleaned.

the cuppa didn't cost £400, it was you spilling it that cost the money?

I've seen a lot of things blamed on drink, but that's the best one on a cup of tea yet!! LOL
