Bought a Chicken from Morrison's reduced to £2.99 from £6.00, Roasted it and froze Legs, wings, and half the breast for future use, had home grown potatoes, green beans, broccoli, would have had cauliflower except it was full of caterpillars and I did not fancy it. The whole meal was finished off with raspberry flan (home grown) felt very satisfied that the meal cost almost nil. We made a big pan of chicken soup with the carcase of the chicken with all home grown. Hows that for economy?

Poor Davy,

You sound very down, Have you not eaten anything today. Surely you must have something you can nibble on.
Please don't tell us that you have eaten convenience food!!!!!! Not even a bit of Rhubarb or salad stuff. Davy have you had a bad time with the drought?

Had our lovely charlotte potatoes too, with a salad of our lettuces, saladan and lollo rosso and our homegrown cucumber.  Accompanied by some seared tuna. For pudding had home made yoghurt with honey and some mixed berries from our garden and allotment (blackcurrants, redcurrants, strawberries and raspberries and a few of my early blueberries.) So delicious. Love this time of year. busy_lizzie  :-*

I've just finished making just over a kg of blackberry jam, which I shall be trying when it is set.  I have also blanched the last 5 days worth of courgettes, there were 12 in total, big un's as well.  I shall be having some on my pizza for dinner tonight, as well as my onions, sweet banana peppers and sub artic plenty tomatoes.
