Can anyone suggest how to make a good tomato fertilizer - have used comfrey liquid and seawood (both home made).  Any other suggestions/recipes?

Hessian sack full of sheep muck in a water butt.

stir well and water your toms once a week.

contents of your hoover emptied around the base of them has had fantastic results for me, got the tip from GWL and it made a vast difference to the plants i used it on, did a test with liquid tom food ,comfy and the hoover waste and i must say out of the the three the hoover ones tasted better and had the same yield as the liquid feed, so this year coming im going to use comfy liquid and hoover dust hopefully get the best of both worlds.

Hoover dust- its not April is it? I had good results with Comfrey. I use an old plastic container, fill it with torn leaves add a few stones then shake the bottle every few days, leave for a month then use like i would a Tomato feed.

Why does Hoover dust work ??? ??? as a tomato fertiliser. I can understand putting it on the compost heap.

I can vouch for the hessian sack full of sheep sharings mind  you must say  you do get a few glances /stares whilst you are collecting it  ;D

Would cow manure do instead.  Only know two legged sheep here.

hoover dust is full of dead skin  thats basically what dust is composed of, the dust breaks down easily in the soil feeding the toms it also makes the skins thinner and easier to eat.

Problem is, my hoover is mainly used for the budgies cages.  I've been banned though as I hoovered up a bird

surely that wil vary a lot from upstairs / downstairs? and perhaps also in the location? urban / rural ? As a child, I  used to live on the edge of the fens, and when there was a 'fen-blow', all of the dust in the house was fen soil!!
we  now live near the beach, and get a lot of sand in our vacuum cleaner.
I would also think that indoor pet's (or the owning of them) could affect your 'dust analysis'
so, QI's response seems a little vague?
