I might be losing the battle to germinate carrots, and my lettuce is playing up. But it is not all bad news! My herbs are looking lovely now. These were all sown from seed last year....

All looking great. Even with failures (I have had plenty) we can always look for the silver lining :)

your thyme looks great they are the bane of my life, i get them to germinate but once planted out they do terribly :( even when i buy plants in the never seem to be happy i have chosen different planting sites and even added drainage in the form of grit with no real success >:(.

it would certainly be a lot less heartache :'(

Herbs are strange, ones like thyme seem to thrive on neglect, whilst other like coriander either do really well or spectacularly badly! I have several modules of different herbs growing that need potting on, that reminds me...... ::)
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

I've potted up the Basil and the Oregano for the sale...  :)

Still got some funny basils to do (thai and cinnamon) but they need to grow a bit yet..   :-X

Duke :)

I've got my thyme growing in old teapots that I've broken the lid of, Ray drilled holes in them, I agree, they thrive on neglect..I've only grown it in pots or walls(at home), they don't like their feet wet  :)
thifasmom, I've some cuttings if you want to try again, away until thursday but could send one after that  ;D

Not sure, I'll have a look and see if we still have the packet, but it might have been sown out and thrown... I'm pretty sure it was in a Wyvale bargain bucket but that doesn't tell you who sells it...  :-X

Hey Deb P, you should see how they live in the wild.............puffing and panting on my way up to Monte Sacarello last spring I took this photo of thyme and sage, growing at 1500 m altitude.

Funny how I could hold the camera still  ;D

Deb P

Blimey.......I'm amazed mine do as well as they do at a normal altitude then! ;D
