Anyone else getting depressed or annoyed by the "Over 50?" ads at the top and bottomof the page? I hit 50 last year and they make it sound as if we're at death's door! >:(

Instead of Internet Explorer try using Firefox with Adblock - Bang! all ads are gone. It makes using the web so much more enjoyable.

I thought it was just me getting them. "have you provided enough for the ones you'll leave behind"or whatever it says  is a corker! Who are they talking about anyway - The Inland Revenue??  ???

Wasp_Box, I already use Firefox but could you tell me please how I can put on the Adblock?

Thank you Flighty.  I have put on Adblock but the adverts on here still show!!   :-\

To be honest I didn't think it would make any difference to seeing the adverts on this forum.

Just ignore the ads ;D ;D Its all a state of mind.  I'm 60 next year and am looking forward to free bus pass, reduced rent on my plots and leisure centre etc etc.
Have a glass of what you fancy, do what you enjoy  ;D ;D

It's so long since I've seen an advert I can't remember but I think you have to right click on the ad then select the option to block image or frame.

Pauline,

Sorry, not been about. Have you selected a filter - usually you are asked on activation of the add-on? If not, go to "tools/adblock plus preferences" and select a filter. The Easylist (USA) filter works well. I see no adverts at all on this site. If you do see an advert, right-click on it and "adblock".
