Some members may remember my post about the lump on my leg. My GP started to remove it but had to stop as I was in pain. He thought the growth was sitting on a nerve. Then saw a surgeon at local hospital. He decided I should have a scan to see what was going on under the growth. I expected to wait months for a scan appointment but yesterday Hinchinbrooke Hospital rang me to ask if I could go today. Yipee!! so I am off this afternoon for the scan. One more step towards getting a result. Will be nice when I can walk without discomfort :)

When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

With things like that the sooner it is dealt with the better. I hope the scan leads to speedy treatment and recovery.

P'raps by now you've had your scan? Anyway, look forward to hearing how it went and what's going to happen next. All the very very best :-*

Many thanks to you all. I am back home, apparently I was booked for an ultra sound scan. The Doctor (charming guy) was a bit mystified with the results on his screen. He turned the screen to me and started to explain things. All I could see was little red and blue flashes on the screen. Anyhow, he decided that he wanted me to have an MRI scan, how lucky was I? they fitted me in straight away. Had the MRI then the Doctor was called to have a look, they then injected some stuff to show the veins up more, Then back I went for another short scan (Didn't have to have my head in it :)) All I know at the moment is that there is more of the "lump" under the skin so will have to wait for the surgeon to see what can be done.
Quite enjoyed listening to the music through the ear phones. Son John wasn't put out although he spent nearly 2 hours in the car park :)
I can highly recommend Hinchinbrooke Hosp a really lovely lot.

That was quick Lorna, hopefully the surgeon wont take long to get you sorted. All the best for a pain free New Year ;)
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

Georgie

Trust a gardener to get their money's worth.  Three scans in one day indeed!   ;)   Glad they made it a comfortable expereince for you Lorna and here's hoping they can get you sorted soon.   :)

Georgie after the ride in John's GTO (he has a very heavy foot) it is a wonder I didn't need a tranquiliser to calm me down ;D

Good luck with the results ;)

When i had my mri scan it was in a tunnel not the donut, they scarred the hell out of me, asking about metal objects in my body and how powerful the magnet is.
When i went in head first it was so small inside, at least i know what a coffin is going to feel like ;D

I reckon you must have winked at the doctor to get seen to that quickly. Won't be long now before they do something for you.
