Hi all. as most of you know John and I are returning to Canada, we will keep in touch of course.

Again as most of you know I have a huge seed collection many of them are from North America.

I am currently sorting through seeds.

I put a lot on here a couple of weeks ago that were snapped up but I still have many more that will be for grabs, there might even be repeats of what was there.

Cannot name , just too much.

I am of course taking heirlooms etc with me but the others I want to leave with you, you lot have been my family for some years for which I thank you all from my heart.

I was going to add to the swap parcel but I think it might make it too heavy so think it is best done on it's own.

I DO NOT want the parcel  back...

These are my thoughts so far.

I will pack up the parcel and start it off.

I will send it out, no limit to the amount of folks participating.

If folks want to add to it, go for it, but if not that is OK too.

It might be a bit high on postage in the first place but I would expect it to drop as time went on.

All participants names will go in a hat for  a draw to make a list which I will publish in advance..late comers will be added on.

The final remains will be donated to something, if I have gone I trust that the last person will do that

What do others feel about the above. All ideas welcome. I am sorting seeds as we speak.

What I cannot do is look for specifics for anyone , I am sorry but it is just too time consuming and we have tons of things to do. I can't work around holidays either as I have in the past.

It will take me a while  to decide what I don't need so there will be lots of time for everyone to have a chance.

The bad bit.... I cannot  include overseas this time , the postage just may be too high for the people sending it over and I don't want to put any burden on anyone.

IF the parcel turns out to be huge,I will have to split it.

PLEASE I need you help here.

I will also have some gardening books at a later date.

I hope you know you are a complete star!

How about you just sending a big parcel to a/some volunteer(s) who could split it into a number of smaller pass the parcels (that might still be able to go overseas?).  Each parcel could be organised by a theme as usual or there could be multiple parcels all the same.  Minimum work for you, less postage for individuals, widest spread for your generous gift of seeds?  Just a thought!

Sounds fantastic - that's really generous Jeannine.

I'd love to be included if that's OK?

How about a lucky dip?
You could put all the seed packs into a box, if we we to send you a set amount and you just pick a set amount. i.e £2 = 5packs £5=20 packs. If we were to receive seeds we don't want then we could then swap among ourselves.

Thompson and Morgan do a lucky dip of 10 packs for £7.99

At least you would be erning a small amount.

Awww its a shame you cant take them with you hun !!
Im happy to join in or start of a few parcles over a few months maybe with a theme to each one ???
I would be heart broken to have to give up my seed collection !!  (worse than lossing the hubby  ;D)
Which ever way please include me  :)

Just a quick note. I am taking lots of my selection with me but still far too many. Certainly my toms are going apart from excess  and my beloved squash as they are both from all over the world, even the beans that are heritage from here will go so I will not be without.

Nilly it was a lovely idea, thank you for thinking of it but these will be a gift, I don't want anything in return. I have had lots of seeds from amny people  and what goes around comes around.

I think as I get  a tidy amount ready I will send it out while I deal with some others..

I shall be in touch.

Hi Jeannine

I hope your move back to Canada goes well and you will still come onto the forum to see us - how on earth would we negotiate the troubles of squash and beans without you ;)

I would like to join in if I can.

If you want any help putting it together let me know.

Jeannine, I would love to join in and will PM you. I, like Ruud, will look forward to planting some of your seeds every  year.
Are you sure you do not need any help with this as you must have so much to do?
