you can still sow most of the summer stuff now for autumn or winter. Beetroot, carrot, turnip, fennel (doesn't like frost). Lettuce (cos type is best or romana), T & M's spicy salad mix is quite hardy (Mizuna, mibuna, mustard etc). Lamb's lettuce, winter radish, radish. Not to mention cabbage, kale, chicory

If you have an allotment shop or local gardening centre they may sell plug plants.  You should be able to get cabbages &  sprout plants,   sow caulis.  Some of your lottie neighbours will probably have some spare plants if you ask around.

hiya, joie, welcome to the site  ;D
if you have any cover, there's lots of stuff you can grow, chinese leaves, winter onions, winter lettuce, spring onions, even fleece or cloches can extend the season for you
some one on here gave us a good site for plug plants vegetableplantsdirect.co.uk
we've ordered some plants for overwintering, quite reasonable  :)

Robinson's (http://www.mammothonion.co.uk/) are currently offering brassicas, leeks and overwintering onions. I haven't bought any of these from them, but I've been very happy with everything I have had from there.

Hi there, Marshalls are doing a great range of seeds that quick crop and also a nice selection of overwintering veg that you could grow
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"
