I have tried all the usual places but I have had no luck id'ing a caterpillar that was on the wall in our back mudpatch the other night. Anyways, could any of you lot help - here it is:

Some have suggested it is a leatherjacket but I am not convinced as according to wikipedia they look like this:

Sorry about the size of the wiki photo.  My caterpillar/grub type thing was about 4-5cm long.

I'm sure I've seen somewhere, it's a moth caterpillar,
deffo not a leatherjacket, I've seen lots of them and i can't stand them  ;D

Hmmm, no expert here but a look through my book makes me think it might be the moth Grey Pug?

Thanks Georgie.  The caterpillar sounds about right:
